05/25/2005: "King and John"
Right now i'm sitting on King Street across from the Princess of Wales Theatre. (Theatre is in italics on the sign). In the Shade. There is a weak Wifi network here. There are lots of businessish looking men wearing golf shirts walking around. They probably make enough money to dress better than resorting to wearing whatever free thing they got at the last junket.
Also, they all wear those swipe cards. Men and women. Around their necks like children, or dangling off their belt like a gun holster. The power of the gun is replaced with the power to open specific doors. They don't have mirrors in their offices i guess, or else they wouldn't wear these things. I've often known a lot about people on the subway because they forget to hide their swipe cards: their name, where they work and how photogenic they are. A joy of not having a specific job is that I'm hardly ever in such secure environments. They probably have better dental plans though.
Now I'll go into the Toronto urban affairs library. A fine library with fancy city-books a good view of the CBC Mothership - but no Wifi.
